I think it is childish to have so many lordships as Goblins would have confisicated any unclaimed volt that is remain inactive more than lets say 200 years and Peverell volt probably merged with potter volt, plus, gaining control of school should not be possible the founders probably put countermeasures to stop any petulant brat which would be their descendent to take control of school from responsible adults. there are evidence about my climes. for example the poverty of Gaunt family which were the Slytherin dependents.

There was just something about analyzing and tactically countering spells that were mystifying to Harry and that was what he liked about dueling. Everyone else either wants it as an easy way to get gold and fame, which considering how pitiful most of the British duelling roster was in the international scene, was fairly possible.
