often times when we don't know how a person will react we just use ourselves as the "base reaction model" and just assume they would react like us. hence she would have been pissy if she was in liths shoes and her in his cause if she knew anything about him then she would know he cares for them deeply and would possibly even help cover her and say she was his apprentice or something
