I’m really liking the intrigue that I’ve been experiencing so far! The setting this book has shown is very interesting, and I can’t wait to see even more of the plot and characters. Remember not to rush yourself and take it slow, I see a lot of talent and potential here.[img=update][img=recommend]

This novel really is a shameless power trip. The character has a name I’ve seen a lot of novels use, he has little to no character, and I swear some of the details seem to blatantly rip off of Unscientific Beast Taming. People fall in love with him for no reason without getting to know or understand his personality (or lack thereof). The most egregious thing to me is the overall stupidity of this MC. He has stated several times that he’s wary of being targeted by nonhumans due to his SSS rank talent. Yet he goes and participated in a contest and shows off what he claims is SS rank talent. How can you have the foresight to lie about your talent and claim it is B rank and yet constantly show off incongruous strength with your beasts? This book isn’t impressive, and neither is his “talent”. He’s extremely arrogant, and I’m not waiting around to see him become a hero by debasing the competence of the enemy. Because I don’t really think it’s possible for anyone in this world who has substantial power and a working brain to lose to him.

Eh, subordinate gathering is more of a subplot but not the main focus. I read a lot too, and I never like the books where it's basically Pokémon and the mc is just sitting around looking stupid.
