There is no reason to make such a mistake. For one thing, if I was the Jormungandr, I would regret giving my abilities to such a fool. You can’t write Felix as a supposedly intelligent player who plays mind games with everyone, while also making him do marhematically stupid actions. Simple basic probability. Your biggest mistake was listing the probability of success for both Hala and the higher tier witches. This way the readers can make a clear mathematical picture of the odds. It’s not gambling if you already know your chances precisely, at that point it’s just simple math. The second mistake as a writer is saying that the Elemental Potion only went for 9 billion SC in auction. Why would anyone put it for auction then? How can you even make money from such a venture? It obviously should have gone for 20-30 billion SC minimum. After all, Felix got the raw materials for 4 billion and 12k GP. In my opinion 12k GK GP is probably close to 8 billion SC in value, based on price of artifacts. Regardless, let’s say it’s worth only 5 billion SC. Total 9 billion SC plus 49% chance. Expected value is 18.4 billion SC. I would start the bidding at 17.5 billion, and expect it to go to 25 billion easily at those prices. No one will make money for anything less, meaning it will never get made and sold for a paltry 9 billion.
It definitely wasn’t normal or logical. It was extremely stupid. Here’s the info we have: he needs at least 4 more elemental potions. He was also going to reach 99% very soon, so ideally, he wanted another potion very soon, unless he wants to waste time at the 1st stage when he’s in gold tier. 4 billion SC plus 12k GP. 49% chance of success. Expected value of potion mathematically is 8.16 billion SC and 24.5k GP. The real question: IS SAVING 0.84 billion SC WORTH 24 THOUSAND COINS??? Plus another 3 months of wasted time. PLUS THE FACT THAT THESE MATERIALS ARE SUPPOSEDLY RARE, SO THE PRICES SHOULD INCREASE AS HE TRIES TO BUY MORE!! Just remember, he bought an artifact for 5 billion SC. 3 artifacts from his SG Prize Pool only cost I think 8k GP. So I would roughly say, depending on situation, 10,000 GP= 5 billion SC. Assuming that those 3 artifacts of lower value = 1 Obscurum armor artifact. So he wasted 15 billion SC just from GP used based on my calculations. The real stupidity is not using the Tier 5, 70% witch. Expected value of the option with higher chance of conception is only 6.43 billion plus 17k GP. Even after factoring in extra 500 million for extra fees. In my opinion, the absolute most logical option is to buy as many stock of ready made Elemental Potion as possible. Even with 2.6 billion in savings from 70% witch, I don’t think 2.6 billion SC is equivalent to 17k GP. IN CONCLUSION, Elemental Potion outright for 9 billion is the best option overall, plus putting in orders with higher quality witch for leftover potions. After all, he will secure the potion almost instantaneously! He didn’t want to use the better witch (really because Felix/the author is stupid and doesn’t know simple math), but supposedly because the waiting time of 1 year is too long and because of higher fees (we already proved mathematically that the higher fee potion is actually cheaper with higher chances of concoction). But with this method, he gets 1 or 2 potions immediately, plus buys him time to save money and wait for the higher tier witch’s potion.
In these harem stories they never write in a son. Or maybe the son will only be a baby by the story’s end. Idk why. Also really weird Will talks about the culture of Hestia being different towards polygamy, and yet not a single man in his family tree has more than 1 wife.
Honestly no reason for MC to be so standoffish. If he truly wants to be safe and secure in this coming apocalypse, he should make as many friends as possible. His personalit's is also all over the place. Apparently he had friends that would die for him in his old life so why is he so antisocial in this life. I still don't understand why he hasn't created a guild. Also doesn't make sense why his little sis isn't playing the game. She's missing out on time she could be leveling or learning skills, etc. There is no justification for keeping her out of the game.
There is no sense in these adults treating him like he's sub par or ordinary. Author clearly stated that no one can see your status and stats. That's why his sister was tested. They have no idea whether MC is ordinary or special. Why are people treating him like dirt. Also his charisma stat should apparently be insanely high so people should naturally gravitate towards him and like him.
Good chapter, but reading “we were talking about 30 demons or so” was very jarring. Sounds like salesman speech and is very out of place in the middle of the action. It would’ve been better to just write ”over 30 demons turned to look at him”, or thirty demons focused their feral glares upon him, etc
It’s a good question. Out of universe answer is that this is a Webnovel released daily. Quality world building with internal logic takes time and planning, which are not afforded by this release schedule. Basically he’s kinda just making it up as he goes. An in universe answer for using our time measurements though is that this is the human world. Humans have adapted our measurement systems to suit our Earth environment. It might make some sense to measure time the human way on Earth. The Earth revolving on its axis every 24 hours is a fixed constant, regardless of who is on Earth to observe it.
I think the language altering artifact isn’t something that should be glossed over. And tbh using it for a signpost is the absolute most banal application of such a technology. Imagine, a display that changes what’s on it based on who’s looking at it. 2 people could be looking at something and not realize they’re looking at something different. You could use this to disguise things for certain people and not for others. For example covering a side of a building to make it look like a restaurant, when really it’s a secret base for Monolith, etc.
Uhhh you just glossed over this, but this artifact is straight up reality bending. Like wtf. It alters the nature of reality as well as identifying the nature of reality suited for the viewer. But also kinda weird because it seems like the dwarf was speaking human tongue to you, and you were able talk to a merchant easily. I don’t see why even 2% of dwarves would be able to speak human tongue, when we haven’t even seen any other humans in the city.
Hey Chef, imma need the recipe for that sauce
We call that a plot hole
