i think biomass investment is really only thing on the termites as they have eating the tree-race. As for war i doubt termites are smart enough on their own, its likely thad lizard casters are leading/supporting them.

Then abominations yet to merge into hybryds using their items they kept in omnipockets was a plothole as well. I should mention that higher level abominations can control their energy to not destroy everything they touch, novel said thats only young/ new abominations have the problem because they have unsable core and have not secured enough energy to maintain stability.
