Something that would have made this better for me is having a random amount of time until the next portion of the trial world. Because all planets in the galaxy are going to have different length days and in turn other units of time. So converting from a probable "standard time" from like 10 alien time unites/idk pick a name for alien time unites I'll go for Gazorbidork is actually like like 6 hours 27 minutes 49 seconds and 158 milliseconds converted to earth time. you went as far as to include somthing interesting like 'savant' syndrome (though with your own twist) but you are having flat time intervals? All alien planets aren't gonna have 24 earth hour days.

She said she hated going to restaurants where the meat was seasoned with only salt. According to her words, it was as if people were taking a beautiful diamond, and instead of polishing it to be as shiny and translucent as possible, they just rubbed it on their clothes to get the dust out. It was still a diamond, but they were not making the most out of that diamond.
