I thought the leader of the Red Vampires looked like Layla's transformation with the horns.

So are the king and his guards outside of the 1500 number for the families? And are the guards essentially lord class vampire knights?
All of the vampires, as soon as they saw the first two men appear from the blood dome, they knew who would be following after them. The reason, because the king never travelled anywhere without his two royal guards. - eager_reader23yrCommented

He said he did it for the people. He still doesn't know how long he's been sleep and offing almost half the leaders could doom his race. I think the king has to be on part with Arthur in strength too. Arthur would be cautious of that.

So is Borden a Dalki, or human with a Dalki like ability? The lab in the castle was set up to make him, but there should've only been vampires in the castle. Then again the portal left with Logan's family went directly to the lab. It could've been a trap from Eno to catch other test subjects. And can Dalki be turned?

The story starts really well and draws you into the world. You learn much about Han Send and have even more questions. i thought the story was coming to a close around the time Han Sen reached the end of the 4th Sanctuary, but that was only the beginning. The universe is so wide and there are seemingly endless places the author could take this book.

Vampire knight is a title bestowed by the vampire leader. Any strong member of the family could be given that title. The wight saying he was created by a vampire lord was implying that his strength is much greater than Peter's since Quinn is only a noble.
