The experiment was done to show that people are so caught up into roleplaying they forget who they really are just to fit in with the people around them and after the experiment they said they felt like they were in a trance and didn't realize how bad they were until the experience already happened. Yeah so your environment really affects of the person you will become unless you have the MENTALITY.

In dragon ball z, if your partner is stronger, the faster you'll grow. That's how it works in dragon ball. So Chi Chi could help Gohan but it will be better Goku as the more experience fighter to teach Gohan. Chi Chi didn't start letting her kids train until Gohan became strong, saved the world, and then still passed his exams. So currently her thinking of training is that it is useless so I don't think she will accept it anyway only until after cell arc, we can see that she trains Goten here and there.

Imagine the pure loneliness Goku grew up in before he met Bulma. He had animals there but they weren't exactly friends. Only person he knew was Gohan who he killed by accident. Sheesh no wonder he trains so much.

People hating on Chi Chi because she wants her son to actually have a good life. Typical parent less and child less behavior. Only thing I don't like is how she overworks Gohan. Other than that she is the only one who actually took care of Gohan and Goten for most of their life unlike a father who is gone for half of the time. And they turned out nicely.

Well at least he didn't turn out like Goku. Leaving his family, comes back, then leaves again, comes back and then leave again and cycle goes on. Goku doesn't work until much later too. Also Goku only really cares about fighting and getting stronger so he doesn't understand the feelings of others like how he forced Gohan to fight Cell. I'm still surprised that Gohan isn't traumatized at this point or he probably is that's why he stopped training to avoid it.
