Nope. Not a logical sequence. When searching, you break an area down into sections. This is called quartering. If you spread out, within earshot and keep constant contact, you will know which direction to go if someone goes missing or calls for help. Larger groups are better for this activity. Hiding on the other hand, is best done by getting behind the searchers, because if they've already looked somewhere, they're unlikely to look there again.

Perhaps, it would be better to say that it is unclear. What is the point of simply saying x person didn't seem to care. i.e. We don't get what you're saying about the character's response, or lack thereof, by saying this.
