That may be true but when you think in thw long run, this just minimizes the amount of fear that can be drawn in. for instance, now flanders can never gwt more than 200+ fear from that person, while if flanders just teies to scare hom multiple times he could easily get more than that. Also, if enough people are scared by him to the point that they want to actually investigate him, surely by then rumors will have spread as the fear doesnt need to be directly caused by skills. Thus even more fear points. Then once people actually investigate him he can have some fun and then move on.

Bruh he is literally 20, I understand these are thoughts that might start consuming him 10, 20 years later down the line but in his 20’s? I think when he is that young he would think this is a boon rather than a curse and wouldnt start thinking this is a bad thing until he is like 50 or something.

I really like in these types of situations where the suthor splits up the viewpoints. Like they as the situation progresses and the people start running away, the author will show the person who is getting rescued’s viewpoint of: “Oh wow, this person saving me is really brave and nice for lending me a hand when I need it, I bet they’re like this all the time” and the the author switches it to the person who is doing rescue and all their thinking is: “FUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING”
