I can't believe Marie is falling for it like this! She's a big-hearted woman, but she's been in the palace long enough to smell tricks like these from 3 meters. Blinded by love, I'm sure. Hopefully "Lief" pulls through on a miracle reverse card after experiencing the familial bonding Marie gave to him. I'm choosing to be optimistic. Thanks for the chapter dear author ❤
Helio is so well written!!! although you can see that in some ways he must truly care for Winter, he's an emperor before he is a father. All his little actions portray a man who understands his duty well, yet still feels inclined to try and be in his daughter's life. The things he did to her on the battlefield helped them win and maybe he's a little twisted too, but now that they're home, he's doing his best to know about her. Truly a fine chapter dear author ❤️
In ch. 118 it was insinuated that the entirety of Marie's hometown was wiped out. Then the next mention of her family that I remember was abt ch. 139. Here it mentions Lief as she had already been corresponding with him. it may have started during the 3 year time skip. I feel like someone has to know abt his placement next to Marie. It's way too much time not to notice some discrepancies. Especially since Marie already mourned the loss of EVERYONE she loved back home. No excuse will stop suspicion from palace players.
The obvious play is for Marie to fall for it and betray Winter, but... she's always treated Winter more like a daughter than a princess. Even if Marie does act, I don't fully believe she'd act without Winter's knowledge. outside of their thickening plot, Katya needs to cool it. I get their family has certain traditions, but she fr let her daughter witness her murdering someone!? The duvernays need therapy. Bad. This could mean we're gonna see Julia more, so that's nice. Thanks again for the great chapter dear author~
Another banger of a chapter. I'm not in love with Janice POVs but I value them nonetheless. I adore her villainess nature, but of course that also means I hate her guts. I love that all her human thoughts are what continue to make her a monster. Absolutely phenomenal character. Thank you dear author~
I have an absolute love for their dynamic. Both have secrets and circumstances they can't fully relay to the other, and it causes a lot of rifts in how they can communicate and understand the other person. Winter's internal struggles make it hard for her to open up and completely trust others to the extent of telling them everything she's thinking. Instead she opts to tell only what is necessary to a select few worth her time and expertise. Her trauma, fear, and anger are really well written as she switches between personalities, thoughts, and personas. She deals with people on an individual bases, and she shows layers of trust that very few have even begun to broach. She is a phenomenal character with a very realistic sometimes pessimistic world view, and far too many scars to remain who she was when this all started. A scheming Winter is my favorite though~ Phenomenally Amazing. Thank you for the wonderful chapter, and the great read. This has all of my love. Thanks again dear author.
I'm loving the truth bombs on Augustus here. He needs to hear it, but most of all I hope he takes in to consideration why his little sister already knows it. I'm a sucker for sibling connections so hopefully they can get a bit of their trust in each other back. Another great chapter, thank you dear author~
Winter is really selling it this time. A pet dragon!? It is refreshing to see an actual interaction between her and her father though. They haven't hit any heart stirring common ground since their hug on the battlefield. A large part of me wants him to be a good father to her, and for her to wrap him around her finger. Thanks for the great chapter dear author. It's another banger.
Augustus' mild disgust for this situation is both understandable and incredibly heartbreaking for our Winter. The feeling of mutual betrayal between the two is grade A eye-catching. I love the way you tell a story. As always, I thank you for the chapter dear author.
This story has become a craving for me. I want more! Katya is even worse than we could have ever imagined. We knew, but we didn't know it was THAT bad! I can't wait to see how Lord Bromely's death will play out for our oh so wonderful cast! Thanks for the chapter dear author~
