Nobody would read Fellowship of the Ring and Return if the King together OR the Harry Potter books #1&2 OR any other series that way. The character archs, sequence, plot and so much more would be too much out of order. No chance of forshadowing because you’ve pastor the part in another novel. You’d be confused about some of it while missing out on the suspense of the other parts. It’s like watching two movies on two different movies on two different screens at the same time—something will be missed.

Melanie might have been smart enough to hide her tracks from Desmond and Wilma but she was never prepared for a Duke hunting her down. Melanie was bound to return to Lockwood sooner than anyone expected.
