Some cultures use a test of bravery to determine adulthood which is in my opinion a much more stable solution than relying on human judgement. Though they are often only a small community and outliers will always exist you will find less areas where human nature bends the rules. A trusted adult might not always be trustworthy. So while I agree some flexibility is preferable actualising ideals is an inefficient use of resources that could be better spent elsewhere. I do think that there should be some internationally accepted system but unfortunately humans don’t like accepting one another.

Neither you nor anyone else could possibly understand God’s criteria for judgement. For instance, All human’s commit an uncountable number of sins during their life. It doesn’t matter how hard you work you will never be perfect. Living with compassion and forgiveness is the only way to make it to heaven. Its nothing to do with commiting sin or not because there is nobody alive who can claim to be completely free of sin and not be a bold faced liar. In Christianity, Jesus Christ took the sins of humanity in his body when he died for them. So for Christians, only by following Jesus Christ’s teachings can one be allowed into heaven. FYI I’m an agnostic and am summarising my own understanding of religion
