While that is the case, much of the space in computers is "taken up" by cooling systems that are a side effect of electrical resistance rapidly heating up densely packed electrical components, particularly in processors and dense microchips/microprocessors.If you could removed the need to space parts out for the sake of heat management, you could easily make computers faster by just folding things up or routing and placing things in a true 3-D space rather than spacing it out on modular 2-d planes with air gaps and fans or heat sinks and coolant pumps. Superconductors tend to be finicky to produce even if you have the materials because the universe tends to dislike the idea of electrons not heating things when they flow through them.

Of course, Ves did not think that such an absurd planet-sized computing system could properly work. The lag and delays in the transmission of signals across such vast distances severely decreased its overall efficiency.

Definitely, but it could be some 1st rate master or even senior making a diploma mill due to how important teaching becomes at the higher levels. It would hardly cost them anything to do as a first rater could probably buy everything needed to pump out 3rd rate seniors enmass with the proceeds from a few first class mechs. It makes sense if it means you get to uplift some students into 2rd rate masters with minimal effort, gaining soft power over the states they would become powerhouses in as well as the high level pilots they would influence.

"He attended a university in the New Rubarth Empire. Dunno what's the name, but it's Rubarthan so who cares. Even though it's not one of the elite institutions at Estelon, he still prances about his prestige whenever he can. It's as if he's an enlightened gentleman bringing civilization to us savages."

The crown is doing some work...

Ves moved behind his desk and took his seat on a much more luxurious chair than the one in his main office. He needed to do something about that glaring difference. A tier 3 galactic citizen deserved to rest on a better throne.

The thing I see them fail to consider again and again is how their foundation will react. It doesn't matter if they gain the ability to negotiate if nearly every other major power takes this as a chance to remove the legitimacy of their faction and try to wipe them out as "traitorous cowards". I'm sure the other factions will be able to spin far more palatable plans for humanity's survival.

Perhaps she had a good point.

Probably, but I'm curious as to how much raw information they get every time they teleport him. If they log the process of moving each and every piece of him and can recreate most of the raw data saved in his brain and implant, then there really isn't a good way to keep his many secrets other than moving all of his core and secretive memories into his soul itself and making that into an information fortress.

Yet for all of he and his clan's attempts to keep its design along with all of his other files and documents secure, the mechers easily defeated his efforts and retrieved his work anyway!

That implies the MTA has far better "psionic" tech than they used to just a few years earlier and have decided to include it in not just his ship, but in the sensors of a "mid-teir" first class terran school auditorium.

He already had an opportunity to observe the enrolled mech design students during his previous lecture. A few of them appeared to possess spiritual potential, though this particular trait was bound to become a lot more common in the future.

You mean a class that requires an extremely energy intensive projection system during a fight that requires your flagship to be using energy to support several shields and superdrive maneuvers? One where you're supposed to be assisting your clan by pulling off spiritual shenanigans and providing intel analysis and technically advice? Seems like a great idea.

"Why not use this broadcast to give a more practical lesson to my students?" He suddenly thought. "I doubt that any professor has ever taught them during an active military operation! I will definitely make an unforgettable impression in their eyes!"

Ya, know, the thing about light is that it seems to bounce off of things like and object, and even glass or water distorts and refracts it. I wonder if someone could think up an experiment to show that light has mass and is thus just a bunch of very small particles.

Vilnia frowned a bit and then put on a wry smile, "I can imagine what Beate and other sorcerers in the school of Electromagnetism would say. They will proudly announce that the future of the world is in the hand of Electromagnetism. However, it is you who inspired Mr. Fernando Brastar, the author of the great paper supporting their assertion…"

Owl's are the slowest flying birds of the animal kingdom. They're specialty is in flying and gliding silently for (relatively) short distances, not quickly and for long ranges. Harry potter's idea to use owls as a mail service is quite possibly the cruelest joke. Pigeons aren't much louder and go way further and faster.

The owl did not fly very fast. Lucien was a bit hesitant whether he should follow the bird or not. Doro didn’t look like a very strong summoned pet, so Lucien was guessing that its owner probably was also an apprentice. But what if there were other sorcerers at the place?

Robes are stupid. They're incredibly obvious, flappy, and tend to restrict movement. At least a cloak could be argued as normal attire on a chilly night as they were basically just blankets you wore as outer wear to protect against the cold and you could have the pockets on the inside without it being obvious you're hand is in a pocket.

So when Lucien was talking, he left an almost undetectable mark on Doro, the owl, with his spiritual power. When he was sure that the owl had flown some distance away from his place, Lucien quickly put on his black robe and ran out of the door.

Bro, I love it when magic systems piggyback off actual physics and the sciences. It stirs the imagination, especially since our current understanding of quantum physics is incomplete and largely extrapolated from coincidental evidence.

“Are earth, fire, wind and water, really the most basic elements in the world? If they are, how do they stick together to form everything we know? And if not, which are the real magic elements?”

Or he could just point out that cultivation is likely still a touchy subject for the RMTA and the RCFA and while his clan having energy vortex mechs would be written off as something akin to Gloriana's god body getting rolled out, an entire star nation's living mechs suddenly sucking up E energy and displaying anomalous defensive properties with no warning would likely get investigated super hard as mech pilots would likely start asking questions or even start trying to copy their mechs, causing any number of bad results (metal element causes lack of empathy in humans if not handled correctly and life energy might accelerate mutations or cause the new sociopaths to suddenly also get stronger and harder to kill.)

"Can we at least extend your latest benefits to the mechs in the possession of the Hexers?" Helena requested. "I am sure it would make your wife ecstatic."

Ya, you'd think that would add a pretty ubstantial kenetic attribute to his universe and if it could be used to give mass to it... that's not just a ship killer there, that's a planet cracker... not to mention he could eat the stele and the barrels so charging up and taking a chunk out of a ship full of exotics shouldn't be too hard.

It was a pity that neither Blinky nor his Blinkyverse were good at causing material harm. Ves needed to rely on other forms of protection in order to defend himself against physical threats.

He realizes that energy vortex is going to be sitting in his head next to all his own energy, right?

Although the growth rate of Blinky's brand-new internal space also slowed down because of this, Ves did not think it was that big of a deal.

A literal star cat, if you will.

There was no theoretical end to this cultivation method. A practitioner could form an internal star system, galaxy or even an entire universe as long as he was able to absorb enough resources!
