To be fair, I hate when the MC needlessly lies about things. like when not sure whether to tell the truth or lie, why is the first thing that comes to most peoples mind to lie?

think of it more of a translation issue from the MC's perspective (endurance might just be the best way of describing that condition in English) rather than it being the actual dictionary meaning.
