How to stop this: Have the main character lose something, be it a battle, a loved one, or an important item/quest. This also has the added effect of making for easy character development/depth!
1 – The author constantly gives the main character miracles and coincidences to constantly escape from danger. This way of dealing with things is actually giving the main character a hidden cheat – plot armor. Since this is not a cheat that's technically in the narrative, having too much good luck can easily make the readers feel like it's all too unrealistic, which will break their sense of self-substitution and destroy their enjoyment of your novel. - CloudlessNight1yrReplied to Tekbox
