There's an attempt to build up Anna as a strong character in this story but after reading this, she seems weak to me. People taking advantage of her whether with good or bad intentions and she forgives them all so easily. I can't imagine this being healthy in reality when you think about issues regarding self-esteem, self-worth and other mental health issues. Anna should've been allowed to leave the situation so she could process the magnitude of the lies they spun on her and Mark.
