everyone improves, and writing skill isn't the same as imagination. I've heard this advice from a friends dad who is a full time writer/author once. don't try to reinvent the wheel, everyone have a life and in that life you have experiences it is much easier to make compelling consistent characters even in a fantasy story if you base said behaviour of either people you've interacted with in real life or mixes of characters you've enjoyed from other stories. but make sure to still make them their own. other part was the advice to try to keep the consistent cast small until you have the experience to be able to mentally juggle a bigger cast. again I'm not a writer but what he said back then kind of stuck with me, and I always scored decent grades on free writing assignments during my school years as a result :) so if sharing this can help you any then you're most welcome.

and this was the exact amount of time it took me to second guess my response and feel guilty ..... ._. yeah no I'm not saying that jumping between view points can't be incredibly effective a novel that kind of took this to absolute perfection would be overlord (japanese) but it's also an art that needs a bit of mastering because too long and people get impatient but too short and too many and people don't become properly invested to take a game example look how ffxiv shadowbringers expansion is heralded as the best story telling in any mmorpg period but the best you can get for the main story line of stormblood is a meh wasn't terrible (the main issue was you were ripped away from the new people and locations before you had any time to get invested leading to apathy towards the environment and characters) I'll stop myself before I continue this guilt ridden rant to try to defend my prior statement

one thing I can admit to was at the end you jumped incredibly much between new "good /bad guys view points" to a point where you barely had 1 half introduced before you jumped to another perspective and as a result I did politely find myself partially skimming (skipping) to get back to the characters I knew / cared about. I figured I would go back later and re read if there was anything important but it just seemed semi generic so yeah :p I kind of suspected it was that whole turn that caused you to re write to introduce them properly instead of just skipping from view point to view point but I might be mistaken. (also sorry I'm kind of known to be blunt) this didn't mean I didn't enjoy the story.

don't kill yourself in the process, just kind of answering all your comments in this 1 thread being honest as long as you don't neglect details do I not mind complexity in my stories, but again I'm probably far from the average reader, I've seen people complain about the slightest things making things too complicated to understand (edit, should however be mentioned that those are the self same people who complain about an anime season ending and absolutely refusing when I refer them to the light Novel because reading is too exhausting ..... soooo...) so they dropped it and I just sit here going not understanding the issue.... but again one of my favorite video game series is Kingdom hearts .... so consider me biased .... as long we don't hit zelda time line complexity (cough inconsistency) I think we should be good :p but I look forward to see where you're taking this :)

I know personally how just the smallest things can help out massively and seeing how there weren't a single comment after all this time I figured maybe just giving a tiny prod here to let you know I previously enjoyed your story and looked forward to see it continued could maybe boost your spirits a bit would you recommend reading it once again from the beginning when you're done seeing you mentioned it being vastly changed?
