To most people? Yes they are undisputely still indie. They are literally an independent gaming company? I guess it depends on you. By your question we can assume you don't think of them like that. Though, If you followed them at all or look at their history you will know they are as indie as it gets despite some recent successes. At most, you can generously call them "Double A." They got their start with a Half Life mod and made their games in unity or with Lua. 😆 Yeah, that's indie.

You're mostly right about that. But if it's something like a female protagonist I can look at it like you do. I think most people self insert for fantasy, though. I'm not really unique in this.
