I stepped on home plate and the CROWN erupted -> I stepped on home plate and the CROWD erupted ---- Just came home from a short vacation, great handful of chapters to combat the post-vacation doldrums :)
Our came ended just before 5pm -> Our _g_ame ended just before
"There are _worst_ debuts. -> "There are _worse_ debuts.
The age gap is phrased confusingly. The twins get added on to Zeke ("Another year"), but then Jake and Noah get an absolute number. Someone who doesn't know the family will think that absolute number needs to be added onto the twins, making the age gap 11-12 instead of the correct 7 years.
I don't think he could. Sure, a few commonplace tips here and there, but what makes him so great is that he can see the pitch coming and recognize exactly what kind of pitch it is, seemingly no matter how fast the pitcher is. That's not something you can teach, you either have the perfect eyesight or you don't. Add in perfect control over his bat and he's mostly an instinct/muscle memory batter, not a learned one.
I kept the ball low, _seteling_ on a line -> I kept the ball low, settling on a line
That's so Noah^^
Not much chance to avoid him next year, no matter where he starts this year. IIRC he's the top pitcher on the junior varsity team, so with all the seniors leaving, he's bound to move up even if he remains in JV. If he moves up this year and warms the bench all year, at least people on JV have a chance to prove themselves without him stealing the spotlight.
I think just for that bit of nonsensical backtalk, Joey should get on the varsity team instead of being allowed to go back to junior varsity. Then he can sit on the bench all season long, feeling very small and untalented while watching Garret and the twins, instead of being the big fish in the JV's little pond and feeling great about himself.
Ok, I'm deeply curious. Does anyone have an idea why WebNovel feels they need to censor a w w w?
Kenny wasn't abled to get -> Kenny wasn't able to get
That's a learning experience for sure. Hope he gets a few minutes to talk to the batters after this curb stomp and then another round and we'll see at least one good hit, but it's certainly true that Jake had it very comfortable till now, so it's good of Rhys to show him how it is to be struck out a few times in a row.
