I don’t expect fantastic grammar, but if there are too many mistakes it just disrupts the flow and makes reading much less enjoyable. And if a novel is famous enough it shouldn’t be a problem to employ an editor. There are actually stories with good grammar, even if they are scarce. Try Chrysalis for example
