Regarding weapons, Rio was undecided at the matter. He didnt know what kind of weapon he wanted, and haven't decided about it until now. Blades would be ineffective at long range combat. Hell, he didnt even know if he can do anything againts this world full of magical beings. He would focus on trying to sustain and improve himself first, before thinking of helping anybody. Granted, the only reason he wanted to help her is because he found her story relatable and tragic, as long as it doesnt cost him something he would help. He was no saint afterall.

I've read a bit further into the mtl and Palos can be considered half tsundere and half kuudere. People usually think Tsunderes are annoying but she usually keeps such thoughts to herself because she tries hard as too appear mature. The relationship between her and Su ye is similar to what's in this chapter. Where Su Ye takes the initiative and tries to make her open up, through teasing her and she puts up with his antics. Tbh, it's more wholesome than it is annoyingš
