So about the kids, so back in the past people would have multuple kids for a number of different reasons. One was becuase they needed extra hands for manual labor; this was seen more in families that farmed. Another was that when women marry early, which could be the case with his mom idk, they tend to have more kids. Don’t remember the exact reasons why though.
