Im REALLY glad you didn’t have fat shaming so much in the comic version. This paragraph would’ve made me stop reading it; a shame because I actually love the comic version. It was completely unnecessary to go that far and you’ve completely alienated a (probably large) portion of your readers. Most of those women are Moms so naturally their bodies changed. Also wearing tube tops and skirts must be a tradional garb worn by women if the majority of the females are wearing them. Since children are so prized it would make sense that women being larger from having given bIrth would probably be highly cherished. I realize Bai is probably highly critical due to the influences from her home but I’m a little she isnt more culturally sensitive in regards to a completely unknown peoples. I actually am surprised by her lack of bodily changes after becoming a mom in the comic too but its no where near the disappointment I felt from reading this paragraph. I know its assinine and hurtful to say this but in all fairness as I’m not the only one upset by this paragraph it might behoove you to go back and rewrite/delete it.
That woman over there—don't wear clothing that exposes your midriff if you have such a big belly. You look hideous with all that fat around your waist. And the woman beside you—your breasts are so saggy that they reach her belly button! Quickly wrap them up! Did you all run out of cloth? Don't make your tube top so tight. You don’t need to have the song in there. I know; Ive done it too but my creative writing teacher told me that simply ”it adds nothing that cant be said by just writing the song title. How the music makes the character react should take precidence... plus you could get sued.”
