my feelings towards the king are conflicted, he did wrong by alicia with good intentions to keep her safe and now that she in engaged and getting ready to leave the country then does he finally step in, granted late is better than never to some. while I understand why he made those choices in the past I'm glad he's come to his senses

I'm guessing she is blood related to her uncle, her aunt (in law) was married into the family.
The palace guards led the queen on the center as well and chained her on the spot together with her uncle and aunt in law.
