Nah, the Japanese people as a whole, especially back then, were extremely prejudiced against those that weren't Japanese or looked like a typical Japanese person. They viewed others as beneath them and only worthy as foot-soldiers or as slaves (part of the reason why, to this day, they still won't apologize for the horrors they induced upon their neighbors like Korea and China and why they are so hated by said countries) and only a few are exceptions to this rule, like the Samurai, Yasuke, who was an African slave under an Italian slave owner and trader, until he was taken in by the man who fought to unite Japan into what it is today, Oda Nobunaga.

Currently? I can confidently say he is now in Blue Two Vortex (The Sequel to Boruto like Shippuden was to Naruto). Boruto isn't even working up a sweat against threats greater than Isshiki right now, so... yeah. He's stronger than his pops.
