Is Derrick secretly a masochist? These and other questions will be answered in future instalments... maybe... ROFL
5k a day is well above the recommended amount of words for a standard NaNoWriMo novel, which sits around 1800 words a day. The most that I have managed to write in a single day is around 3500 words but I know people that can write around 10k. These are folks that spend hours at their desk typing furiously away whilst trying to block out everything that is going on around them. Why? Because they are veteran writers that have picked up plenty of "tricks" along the way. This includes a higher WPM typing speed. Chris Fox actually discusses typing speed in one of the books that he's written on writing. I know that it seems obvious, but it really didn't factor into my mind before that recommendation. And yet, being given good advice and putting it into practice can often be two completely different things.
Poliana is probably going to feel guilty when she realises what happened while they were drunk... ROFL
