My reasoning says that If Dancer pathway is compatible with 3 mysteries pathway and monster pathway(Since both are related to fate) then why not Child of Sea and Sun pathway not compatible to each other or maybe Lumian assumption is based on his half knowledge since he doesn't know the relevant knowledge ....
