also, that's a clear rip off from the novigrad vampire mission. The author is walking the blurred line between inspiration and plagiarism.

A racer whom lost his guts, found himself with his horse's. (not really sure) A greedy banker, with no fingers to hold or eyes to leer. A loud mouth serf, to be forevermore silent. A poet, truly.

Partially wrong, the pendulum training is meant to simulate some of these monsters's strikes, but the main point is to learn to redirect force into a counter, and while yes, evading is safer, you'll be spent after trying to weave them for the duration of the battle.
