I've read the raw (which is really good) on Qidian. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that 'filial piety' was used instead of 'debauched devotion'. But overall this is a really good read.

havent been on webnovel for a while and this was the first novel i decided to read after coming back and guess what?? its great!! though u probably figured that out if u read it.

In most chinese novels, the world 'fairy' is used more often than 'immortals' especially in xianxia themed novels so actually the translation might be pretty accurate just that it might be unacceptable in different cultures because in western countries fairy is often equated with tiny magical beings lol or beautiful women.

Excellent work. Almost perfect in my opinion. It has almost everything I wanted in a novel. Very philosophical work. Op (not too much that the story gets boring) mc. Very well connected plot. Mc has moral which a lot of novels don't. Realistic so that means you won't be finding girls falling in love with a single look that you often find in harem plots.

this is what makes so many novels rubbish, even if im not qualified to speak the way the novels are unrealistic with young masters here and there not accurately reflecting human nature is why i think many are failed works

He can't turn into a girl. He can only use powers of illusion to hide as a girl which he does so people can't guess his identity. This novel isn't gender bender. If you want more info, you can read my two reviews.

The mc is not a coward like some people are saying. I've read further on the mtl and the mc has a heroic side of himself. It's just that it is suppressed for some reason. Plus as the story progresses the mc's character grows making him a dynamic character. It would be boring to have a static mc in this type of novel.
