Hope he's not going to be suckered in by looks and carry this or any other female and if they offer a trade sex/companionship in exchange for food and safety he responds with "and what makes you think your worth that kinda exchange". I'm not saying he shouldn't help, but benefits are a given in any Apocalypse, so they still have to fight and scavenge like he does or is going to be doing.

HIS story HIS choice(s), from what they breathe (birth) to how they can be killed (death) HIS creation(s) in everything in every-way. Imo, we as fans can suggest, but I don't think we have the right to try and 'force' a change by complaints, we can offer help in smoothing the English barrier and all that, just not rewrite the sentences to our preferences. I have made this mistake myself many a times, until an authors 'hiatus' notice woke me up to how much we can negatively affect the writer(s) mental state. Not saying anyone so far has acted like this in this particular story just wanted to mention/remind ourselves before this mistake is made.
I used <Inspect> on them and found that their race is called the 'Lizardnoid'.
