Did you intend for your world to use different rules for draft eligibility? Under the current rules here, players are eligible for the draft at 18, but if they enter a four-year college instead, they don’t become draft eligible again until three years have passed. “ Players at four-year colleges and universities are eligible three years after first enrolling in such an institution, or after their 21st birthdays (whichever occurs first). Junior and community college players are eligible to be drafted at any time.”
Most of the world doesn’t play baseball/softball at a high level, so it is only occasionally included as an olympic sport. Plus, with the olympics happening in the middle of the season, MLB players are not released from their teams to participate. At least in our universe; our author always could choose to take things in another direction.
It sounds like you have something odd going on with the series sequencing again. Should be 2-3-2: two games at the higher seed on Saturday and Sunday before traveling Monday to the next site for games three through five (if needed). Quoting Wikipedia for you: “The ALCS and NLCS, since the expansion to best-of-seven, are always played in a 2–3–2 format: Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 are played in the stadium of the team that has home field advantage, and Games 3, 4, and 5 are played in the stadium of the team that does not”
To the best of my knowledge, the divisional series uses a 2-2-1 format, with the higher seed hosting two games, travel day, then two away games, then travel before game five back at home if needed. (Wikipedia says this has been in place since 1998; before, it went 2 away then 3 at home for the higher seed.) Why did you set up your playoffs with three in a row at the higher seed to start?
