It not about the mc saying every detail about what was there. its the fact that there was an underground room that was built under there and we know from what the mc said (and common sense) that that cultivator would not have built if bg himself. meaning he would need help. and we can probably assume the villagers didnt help. plus with the fact that there was a seal that could block entry and sensing. so even if the mc fidnt know what the guy had on him, if he said anything about what was in there( aka the room itself, the seal, the kid and the dead guy with his soul gone, and the array around the village.) then people would want to investigate right. and they would also ask for li hais help in investigating since be was there. and after seeing that the corpse was already looted they could assume that li hai and the mc looted. and li hai cant lie because one word from mc would prove the lie wrong. and they can search the mc cuz at the time he was a qi refinement cultivator. and its also obvious they were the first ones to enter because the kid was still there and alive so they couldnt say that someone looted before them. and li hai was also scared that someone would figure out his identity as a runaway prince because of the ordeal which is also why he tried killing mc with a borrowed hand. honestly if you use the clues you got from all chapters in the village you can easily come up with the conclusion that its much more beneficial for li hai to kill mc than let him live. Plus its a cultivation world what more do you expect

Mc was doing the fool act, So in li hai’s eyes he might accidentally spill the beans without knowing the weight of his words. of course the mc wouldnt because he wasnt actually a fool

Personally i came to the same conclusion that the mc did. although not in the same way. because they had two good and easy options, either both use 10,000 miles away talisman or both hide in the basement. now only the mc knew they both had a talisman since he got it from li hai and li hai probably wouldnt even imagine that the mc had one because how expensive they are(assuming based on the fact the mc said that they are because of their usefulness in later chapters. and that he only got them from li hai I think.) so they could directly cross that one out. then they could hide in the bunker. Using the logic li hai used, if the mc hid in the bunker with the kid then they wouldnt get found and they could wait them out. sk if they both his in there then they wouldnt get found and they wouldnt have to fight, and seeing as the mc could use the 10,000 mile away talisman with the kid the maybe they could use it with 3 people. but li hai never said anything about this. plus if you add to the fact that its a cultivation world and people kill each other for small amounts of money and resources the mc was suspicious that li hai didnt kill him When they found the dead corspe of the village chief. this could be played off as his fool act working, but he might also have spilled the beans without knowing what that would entail(This would be li hai’s thought process. of course it wasnt but yeah) this isnt exactly how i came to the conclusion but its close enough considering its been 7 days. But keep in mind i came to the same conclusion as the mc which was that li hai was going to betray him, and i thought this before the mc said it himself. so mc’s thought process cant really be called paranoid and delusional.
