I guess it is just a matter of taste in this single instance. I recognize a good and well-written story when I read though, and I'm not as narrow-minded or intolerant to feel insecure about some small stuff like this. Some things just get me worked up in the moment, and against better judgement, I tend to be quite harsh vocally at those times and disregard the positive things unjustly. I want to take this opportunity to express that I really enjoyed the story and still do at this point, and will continue reading. Don't let the negative comments affect your vision for the story too much. I know I couldn't possibly write a quality novel or fanfic myself, so I always advocate for writers to follow their own creative process. Stories tend to be better that way, even during the times that some parts make it personally less enjoyable. That just makes it complete. I don't mind being it that way in the end
