I got the impression he was saving those points for immediate use when he’s hit a wall.
Billy was aware of that… it wasn't like he didn't want to participate in the mission no matter what. He was just a bit troubled over it. He didn't lose anyone close to him since he was born in that world, so his desire for revenge was weak. Regardless, Alexander was going, and Lily will definitely go as well. As for Natalie, it was hard to say. With that in mind, Billy had to do his best to make sure that his group of misfits wouldn't suffer any losses. Increasing his level on a single night was impossible, but Billy could improve his Stone Bow. Still, it won't last for long if it doesn't increase its durability. I honestly don’t get the whole drive from just using a sword. Sure it’s high damage but surely move set is what matters most right? Spears, shealds, knives, bracers, flails, staves, halberds, curved blades. Why DFK is a sword used as generic weapon of choice? Surely a spear would be default since it’s a simple weapon to begin with. You can even counter other sword attacks if you’re using it correctly.

Yeah but unlike other cultivation stories LOTM is actually good and has an actual good story behind it. It’s world is more interesting than under development generic setting.
