Did they get that name from Wish?
the naivety
They are listed in chapter 5. Someone also summarized them in that chapter's comments.
I'm happy it is not a snake roaring.
Excellent decision. I find myself lately skimming over chapters and not missing much storywise, if anything. The story has a lot of potential, but we can only fully enjoy it if its essential elements are not too diluted in side stories that do not really pertain to the main story. Keep it up!
I feel like there has been enough chapters setting up the stage. This one is just overkill. We don't really need to see what there were doing waiting for him if it's just to inform them of the plan. For us readers, this plan had already been discussed and settled. So we would just assume that Shu Yao informed them before bringing them over (and that would be the logical thing to do). Regarding their reaction to having a Domain Lord on their side, we already got a glimpse of that from Shu Yao and Fend Chen. All in all, we haven't learned anything new from this chapter (not even the names of those elders), not does it bring anything of value to the story.
It needs a medium to be used and the medium requires some time to show effect. Remember the rejuvenating pond?
Thanks đ That's huge. It's a lake, not a pond
For real! There's an unknown disaster of the highest category that resulted in massive destruction for starters. Spatial tears appeared. Random people have glowing eyes. But Shawty here is rolling it easy-peasy because there's a logical progression to things. What's logical in all of this? It's barely been a few minutes of utter chaos. đ
Don't you just love it when you can freely use a forbidden technique that's supposed to destroy your foundation, and be swiftly patched by our MC at the mere cost of some spiritual energy? No long term lasting effects, no long recovery time (just a week vacation). What's even the point of drawbacks.
They are not without enemies. Xuan Hao mentioned it a few chapters earlier. Advertising his power-up will cause them to be a lot more cautious whereas they could have less of a hassle if they assume that everyone is below Pseudo-Domain level (like in the case of the Seven Fates Sect). More importantly, I think, it will break character. What we have seen right now depicts Xuan Hao as a very cautious and somewhat low-key character.
I think you answered your question there. "If done well..."! Thing is, romance is rarely done well and most if the time feels off, fake, artificial. It'd be fine if it didn't even add any value, but most of the time it drags the story down. That's why I, like many others, tend to avoid them. Seen too many stories go down the drain (MC suddenly becomes an idiot, etc...)
You want Xuan Hao to go on a worshipping parade proclaiming that he reached the Domain Lord level when there's a Plague Church on their door step causing trouble even to the Sky Empire? It's fine if a handful of trustworthy elders know, so they effectively plan for the future. More than that is just reckless.
Don't snakes normally hiss? đ
