I would say if you want to go with the second option then please atleast write an epilogue for this version for a sense of closure.

The book and sparring missions also give stats. He can also use weights which will increase stat gain in itself and get more stats from the workout mission. Redo the goblin dungeon or find new dungeon, do hero stuff, level up, etc. I think he should at the very least have been 100+ all around.
