It doesn't help that we rarely learn other characters' ages or cultivation levels.

The "she was not a genius" comment happens way too often, especially because we dont really have reference point to say if she is or not, and all the evidence so far points to her being very talented.
Ming Yue finished her meal and Xiao Yin had already left her shoulder and perched on a tree branch going to sleep. She then proceeded to put what she had learned into practice, bringing out her sword and attacking the empty space in front of her. Her progress was slow but it was quite steady. She was not a genius but her comprehension was decent and the effort she exerted. If he got the sword apprised, then he literally had no excuse for not using it or giving it to the soldier guy in the village, could have saved himself and a bunch more people

How would she know that shes not a genius? I mean, it's quite obvious from our perspective that she is a genius, so this just feels a bit jarring
This was all because of her breakthrough to the fourth level. She had been at the second level for quite some time and had gained a huge amount of experience from combat and training. Ming Yue understood that she was no genius and only hard work and persistence would help her. Not a single second was wasted. She always cultivated everyday, making her foundation very solid and practiced constantly. Coupled with the fact that her body had never experienced the efficacy of a cultivation plant, the effects of the Blood Lotus and the thunder roc blood doubled. From what we've seen so far, it's more like she has the experience but doesn't have anyone to teach her, and she only just recently gained some new techniques and insights from the books

Mira saw a beast start to charge at her and she just closed her eyes. There is nothing she can do right now, hopefully, her death will be peaceful. She'll just try to find the resolve to keep going after this death… hopefully. - Liam_0003dCommented

Mira spent her first 2 weeks in the World of Water sitting on her ice raft, fishing. One might say this is incredibly lazy for how Mira usually does things, but fighting in the water is a lot different than fighting on land. The pressure from the water along with the water itself can dull your swings, not to mention that there is no place to stand to help gather momentum or increase the force of an attack. Mira knew that using a scythe underwater would be many times harder, so she decided to get what benefit she can out of this place as well as waiting for a nice mount to assist in killing things. After 2 weeks, Mira took out some rope and a chunk of Mid-Stage Rank 2 Meat and waited for a Mid-Stage Rank 2 Fish to come over here. Mira made a noose to set a bit of a trap for the fish.
