Lots of reasons, for example, he makes a rest area then he can try developing it into a town/city or so adventures don't have to keep running back and forth, just think about how convenient and profitable that'll be for everyone... Long story short just take a page out of 'Lazy Dungeon Master'🤷♂️

The only drawback was every time he died, he will be teleported into the starting point, so continuously dying and walking back to the monster location will be a bit of a hassle.
