Okay, I get that MC needs to show off a bit, but this is getting ridiculous. Why tf would all of these geniuses be so close together? And only appear in waves? Are they all stupid? With a situation like this, even if you beat the lizard, if you’ve used all of your fighting power up, you’ll be killed on the way back; these gun/machine guys should be holding some trump cards back, since this is hunting not supported battle. Have they not shifted their strategies yet?
It improves the senses, so you could read the opponents moves more easily; MC can hear a beast 3km away, that’s going to improve your situational awareness and make you a more effective soldier even if you don’t get any direct fighting abilities. On top of that, it should increase survival rates, by making it easier to run away if your machines break, which will save human resources and let more people grow stronger.
I love the historical accuracy! War bows from ancient / medieval times had draw weights up to 200 lbs, you needed a lot of strength to draw them! Archers were pretty darn built dudes! I know it was just a one-sentence reference, but as a medieval enthusiast I loved it! (Now if we could just get some accuracy about the weight of swords and the prevalence of other weapons... lol.)
Honestly, I agree with Wuwu on this one. Humans are just animals, but we try to separate ourselves so we don’t have to face the morality of killing / exploiting other species. Not that killing / using other species is necessarily wrong, just that we try to avoid asking the question altogether by saying that “humans have souls.” Or some pseudo-science-based reason, like “but we can love” or “we make tools”, when really we’re just like every other species, we just ended up on top for now.
Wow! His actions are really affecting things now; his advice to the Principal meant the principal showed up to the practical exam, which means that without our MC, the students wouldn’t have a Hero-level citizen with them in the fog! Can’t wait to see more subtle ways the MC’s actions change things!
I wouldn’t mind, if they just made chapters like that free, or just noted like, “Infodump chapter! Not plot-critical, skip if you like!” People who care can read it, if you don’t, just move on, by the time it comes up in 100-1000 chapters we’ll all have forgotten it anyways.
