Make sure to include other characters perception of the mc, it can help a lot to see an outsiders point of view.

Then why wasn't that mentioned as his stance was being adjusted? would have helped a lot, in the next paragraph it's mentioned that he was remembering that prior knowledge. But in this one he was acting as if he was learning it for the first time.

I can right away find at least 30 fanfics with a "helpful" rob. It's just lazy writing to help the MC because the author doesn't have the capabilities of properly fixing those problems without the help of some overly friendly god. You are simply looking in the wrong place because I've read much more "helpful" rob fanfics than I've read about a selfish rob.

A stance to throw a punch doesn't require any complicated technique, the first thing you even learn is the stance.

I'm sorry but I also do boxing, there's absolutely no way on this planet earth he can't properly throw a punch. Like come on, even an amateur can do it. How do you mess up the stance you practiced your whole life in the past for the entire purpose of throwing a punch? Not even just muscle memory but that was his whole life. That's silly
