If you know that you say one thing and do another, and you admit to this, then you are actually not being hypocritical. For example, if you smoke, and you tell your child not to smoke, and you acknowledge that you are not being virtuous by smoking, there is no hypocrisy in this. What would be hypocritical would be to smoke, claim that you didn't smoke and that you were virtuous for not doing so, and then get mad at your child for picking up smoking because it was not virtuous. See the difference?
The whole seeing people as characters is weird... I mean, even if you know someone is a character as long as you are interacting with them.. doesn't that make them real? you have to be seriously delusional to see someone as a character when you are in another world... like the flat earthers.
