Did you mean by choking on food?
yep, we was indeed a lawyer before he died.
This was also the first reason I thought of, when it was stated that he had no intention of killing him. Money is the most important. š
I first found this book when it was free for 24 hours. The first 5 chapters were pretty ok, they were introducing the character and the system, as well as some details about the world. It also highlighted the beginning of his adventure towards power, his goals and motivations, which was great. It starts going down hill when he meets the boar orc, the second rare grade creature. At one point in the story it says that ordinary objects can't harm these beast and then he ends up killing the monster with a tree. I also have to mention that the fight scenes are pretty poorly described, I'm never able to get a picture of what's going on, I was only able to glean that he fought, got somewhat hurt and in the end somehow killed it with a tree. There are also some parts that I find really ridiculous, like when for some reason he feels the need to con someone who cared about him or the fact that a character just blurts out all his thoughts and worries to someone he deems a stranger. In reality people don't just blurt out the whole truth of their problems to others who they meet for the first time, at most they would give a vague outline of what's wrong. The character is also pretty dumb, at one point he goes on a tirade about how despicable others hiding information about their powers is, when he's also going to end up doing the exact same thing, it's kind of common sense to keep important information to yourself. Overall, the concept and beginning is good, it's just... everything else that's not great. Too many inconsistencies and nonsense.
And by strangle the dude, I mostly mean the mc. Though I do feel that the author should get someone to look over his work because there are a lot of writing mistakes and there have also been some inconsistencies with the story and some really cringe parts included in the plot.
This chapter really made me cringe. What person would just blurt out all his thought and worries to a complete stranger. Then there was the medium thing and the whole pay me to talk to my 'dead' self con, I just can't help but want to strangle this stupid dude. ššš
Everytime I see his name, I end up chuckling a little. šš¶
Maybe the chief offers sacrifices to the monsters so they stay away. Another theory is that the chief is a strong monster disguised as a human, who treats the villagers as livestock, he scares away other monsters from his territory, so no monsters go in the village.
not if you think about how he can only cast about three lightning spells.
If he added enough points into luck he would be so lucky that he wouldn't meet any danger when crossing the ocean. That is if luck doesn't just mean an increase in coins received from killing monsters.
A more efficient way to upgrade fire resistance would be to stick his hand in or near fire. Of course he'd have to learn/ become more proficient in making a fire.
I would always focus on moving my fingers. Though sometimes I would break out of it because of most of my muscles were tensing up out of fear, since on some occasions I would also experience frightening hallucinations, like bugs flying at me or a shadow standing near my bedroom door. Anyway, I'm just glad that it only lasted for about two weeks because those were truly the worst weeks of my life. š
A few years ago, I had nightmares during my sleep, and sleep paralysis and hallucinations when I woke up. This suffering lasted for two weeks, the cause was probably due to the massive amount of stress, anxiety and depression that I was feeling at that time. I believe this happened around the time I was entering the 10th grade. It really felt like it came out of nowhere because when I usually started school, although I was usually pretty nervous, I never felt that hopeless and panicked. So I can definitely related to anyone who's also experienced the 'joy' of being conscious but being unable to move a muscle.
Wow! What an awesome burn š„ You've earned my respect. š
