it's not extortion if a merchant charges more to go to greater lengths and risk his life to get to a remote village. I'm sick of these capitalism evilc tropes. most people will set fair prices, it's necessary to get trust from your customers and in a case like this paragraph is mentioning the village could barter for a better outcome.
