Even if having his name in the name of the tournament was common sense (which is debatable), at least one of the other three words can be removed. "Black Star Army Tournament," for example, would be 1000x better than "Black Star Cup Army Tournament."

Fairly certain they have been taught basic costs for food, etc., which is how Thirteen knew that the inn was an expensive one. And they're being taught how to deal with nobles, not commoners. Everyone at the training camp treats them like soldiers, which is why they weren't expecting to be treated like children when they left.
