he was able to fight kumo anbu while a child. probably difficult to do with a low chakra. plus he was one of the few who could learn sage mode - which you cannot do without a large chakra capacity - not even tsunade and the third could try to learn. he probably had more chakra in his early twenties than most ninja's have in their life.

not just that. maybe the senju ahd people wanting to become hokage, and sarutobi wanted to cling onto power. and maybe being hokage helped him strengthen his clan. it IS convenient that nawaki , dan , sakumo all died mysteriously. a field commander could never have killed himself over mere rumours. maybe they threatened him with his son's life. and maybe it was zetsu, controlling the council, danzo AND the third to slowly kill off anyone who might awaken the ootsutsuki bloodline and become a threat to his plans.

Itachi did not break the record. KaKashi did everything earlier by a year. Itachi became a rank first, only because of his ms- which actually cut his future . KaKashi was jounin at 12. Itachi joined anbu at 12 as a chunin. Becoming captain at 13 was him becoming jounin- probably.

The 5 villages decided to demilitarise - increasing the age at which children become soldiers and learn to kill and difficult jutsu. Even Suna and iwa followed the doctrine- which was one reason both used the akatsuki- as they did not have enough ninja’s to do all missions that came their way. Kumo was the only one that refused- being warmongers.

Nah. He is stronger because cannon hiruzen did not have to deal with the mc. The third’s strength is not openly shown.
That said, Hiruzen will be the one facing him next. Even though he is no longer at his peak, Hiruzen is much stronger than what I remember from the original story. I won't be surprised if he's able to kill Orochimaru and seal the Senju brothers without having to resort to the Dead Demon Consuming Seal.
