I am convinced that Grandma Zhou is actually Lu Wanwan’s biological grandmother. She knows of the existence of her granddaughter and has been working on putting her people in key places for years. She’ll poison Qingzhi eventually and the reason she died in the book.

I like that there's an explanation for the difference in treatment and someone from the household who acknowledges the unfairness of it, even if it's just the chauffeur.

I was thinking "poor king" until the last sentence. Now I'm sure Lucien is up to something and the king isn't as sick as he seems. I'm wondering why Lucien wants Penelope to come to his kingdom so badly.

I like that Edgar is supporting Alessandra to stand up for herself now that she has a backer. It will be fun to see her family's consternation :)

Review as of chapter 12. I really appreciate seeing a FL being proactive in finding a way out of a horrible situation before transmigration/reincarnation/rebirth. She still has some emotional weakness for her family but it's not at unreasonable levels. The pacing is excellent so far with a good balance of plot and character development. There are already several plot threads I can see the author exploring and I look forward to seeing how they develop.

This is interesting so far. I am looking forward to getting the back story on Alessandra's mother and what happened to her face. It will be interesting to see her relationship with the duke grow as well.

Really interesting development, but that transition was too abrupt. I was really confused and thought you had posted the wrong chapter. If you had ended the previous chapter with something along the lines of “Penelope went out to the gardens” before jumping to kidnapping it would be easier for readers to make the connection while still giving you the surprise element you want.

Whatever Clementine does it will be really sneaky and vicious. I am looking forward to it :)

They're young enough that's still a possibility, but I still think he's going to expect a return of his affections. I just now think that her influence will be strong enough that he won't turn into a villain if she be rejects him.

So refreshing to have the childhood sweetheart let go.
