I like that you used the Eye of Horus as their mark. in warhammer 40k it's the mark of insurrection against humanity and chaos so it's good to see it used in another way.
Suffice to say, the charm-like (totem?) Eye of Horus logo was imprinted in the minds of all those involved in the conflict and region, for good or for bad. - SvenneFan7mthCommented

To Berengar, this was a matter of pride. Germany needed to be avenged for the losses they suffered after the fall of the monarchy, and the failed experiment that was the third reich. Eeh... all bears are dangerous but black bears are at the bottom of the bear totem pole. I've seen them chased away by cats. Grizzly or at least a brown bear cub would have been more fitting.

this is called "the uncanny valley effect" something is on the line of human-like but your brain will go "that is not human, that is wrong" this is why so many people had an adverse reaction to Mass Effect 3 human models.

this is a very subjective review.I ended my read at chapter 96 because of tge MC's mental inconsistencies and gymnastics in his behaviour against his Mother and wife.starting everything he is portrayed as a mamas boy and with what Erika says about him online we are constantly reminded that he either doesn't know about it or take it much to heart... thing were I started lösning interest was when they spent over two years not talking at all it seemed very off for a dude that sure she caused shit and drama but the author stated that it didn't bother him. these years could have been spent by him not only healing but getting petty revenges against her that could have ended with them not liking each other but not hating either. With him being a mamas boy her redemption with bringing her home should have made a much larger impact on him. I'm not against the involvment of Yumi and Ayumi but it was horny bonk dead waah alive yay. His escapades with Yumi is one thing but this felt more like a jerk off session than anything else.
