It's an interesting idea. Here becoming stronger is much harder than in Pokemon anime. MC is neither a happy go lucky nor someone who spreads his advance knowledge randomly. This story unlike other Pokemon fanfictions is mainly focused on MC's journey after winning his first pokemon championship but unlike mainly stories that's just the starting point of his long journey.

From the grass type royal Pokemon rowlet and treecko are my personal favourite. Sceptile having a grass/dragon type mega evolution and Decidueye having 2 evolution while one being a ghost/grass with an interesting hidden ability.

A bond is a 2 way thing and considering the fact that MC and his Pokemon are like family who will always choose each other having a bond with a random Pokemon who won't even bother to stay by MC's side and still get a growth boast is a no, legendary or not .

In the series he is a gym leader too that means this story is before the begining of Ash's journey .
