Not really. I just don’t think it fits very well with I’m yet. I could see him changing his name to that later in life (though I find it very unlikely) as he begins to accept his history more, especially if he gets closer with his brother. Right now, however, I don’t think it fits at all. He’s still deeply traumatized from the years of abuse and he’s has a clear hate/fear of his family and old life. He’s making a lot of progress, but he’s still not there. He wants to be an Atkins and doesn’t want to be a Patterson. That could change, but it hasn’t yet. That’s my opinion at least.
